Carbon Neutral Printing
GFA Certification has engaged in a new type of cooperation with ClimatePartner. GFA acts as a broker for carbon neutral printing services provided exclusively by ClimatePartner.
“Climate neutral printing” refers to printing processes and/or print products whose greenhouse gas emissions have been calculated and offset by the purchase of emission allowances. ClimatePartner has developed a standardized method for print products by means of which – on request and at the expense of the customer – the emissions of an individual print product are calculated and offset by investing in certified climate protection projects.
Climate neutrality means that the product or service described as climate neutral does not change the CO2 balance of the atmosphere. Therefore, climate neutral means that
- either the product or service in question is produced, used and disposed of without generating CO2 emissions,
- or that the resulting greenhouse gas emissions can be avoided elsewhere, so that the negative effect on the climate will be neutralized.
The two partners’ new online platform allows ClimatePartner to offer services in a customer-friendly way: No setup efforts or expenses, but full cost control. Only if and when a customer requires a climate neutral print job, the printer may offset this order by means of emission certificates. Printing companies or other businesses interested in ClimatePartner’s climate neutral printing services, particularly their CO2 calculator, may register at www.climateneutralprinting.com/gfa.
